So I'm finally getting to the point where I think it'd be a good idea to have a sick/quarantine tank set up. I have a 37 gallon I'd like to use but my question is, how do I keep it going? Is it fine just running with no fish until it's needed? Doesn't seem practical to keep fish in there if you're going to have to move them when one of your other fish gets sick... Anyways, thanks in advance for responses!

I am not sure what you are asking? do you mean a quarantine tank/?

if so, no need to keep it running long as you have a extra filter from another tank to use as needed. filtration redundancy a good thing.

I have cleaned and resealed 40g in my closet. and existing HoB filters on other tanks that are not needed but keep them running. I have a need for a Q Tank , fill with water, put an extra HoB already cycled and away I go.
