Ive seen lots of tanks with logs in them, mostly like catfish and bass tanks, not driftwood, actual logs,so how would i go about doing this,Id like to add a log to my blue channel cats tank, also need some pics of some people with logs in their tanks.

Get a big tub or garbage can, and soak the log in there until it will sink and then you can use it. Might take a while though.

thats what i thought, only id put some rocks on it to make it sink

Yup, and you will know when the log is ready when you take out some of the rocks, and the log don't float to the top.

I've been thinking of doing this too. Should I strip the bark if there still some on it?

I just went and found some old ones with out bark but if they are old and still have very little bark then strip it,new wood will release txins into your tank because its still green, just go out and find some old logs like, and put them in scolding hot water for like 2 days(to kill all the bacteria)then put them either in your tank with rocks on one end if u want one it to kinda float at and angle or rocks at both ends the keep it sunk or you can do it in big tubs, here ill go get pics of the log i just got from my woods and put in my tank for my channel

Think common advise is to strip off the bark because of rot and fungus growing on the bark and what not. I'm currently baking a piece of wood I found, and I stripped off all the loose bark on the piece before it's being sunbaked, and then soaked.

heres the pics,i just got that log about an hour ago and as you can see one end is floating while the other is held down by rocks, sorry bout all the feeder fish in the pics haha
