I know, I know, what else is new, goldfish are pigs, but I got a kick out of his behaviour today... he's only about 2" right now, and the flake food I have for him doesn't really seem to fill him up (plus I never see him poo, which seems abnormal for a GF), so I dropped a chunk of bloodworms in there today. Well, he tore a chunk off of it that took him quite some time to chew... I don't think he's ever eaten that much in one bite before, so he looked a bit puzzled. Anyways, after he finally got over his brain freeze, he went and scooped up the entire remaining cluster of worms (!). He had to sit there on the bottom and chew - I think it was all he could do to process that wad of worms and breathe at the same time. He's got this big fat bulge in his stomach now, and as we speak, he's making a racket digging through the gravel looking for more. What a pig!

I am pretty sure goldfish will eat everything you put in there, so be careful not to overfeed.

yea becareful not to over feed, although they can eat alot, they lack a true stomach and instead have a long alaki gut, so its not very efficient at digesting, so if you feed too much alot of that will pass through rather quickly and foul the water faster.

I think my tinfoils will eat more than my goldfish. My balas also keep eating until theres nothing left. Im gonna have one hell of a food bill in a few years when these guys are all enourmous.

well as I said, I have yet to see him poop, so he can't be getting overfed any other time. I just thought the sight of him so stuffed with bloodworms he had a bit of an awkward wobble as he swam was hilarious.

I remember when I was a kid, my 2 fancies did NOTHING but poop. No matter how much I feed these fish, I could never get them to poop as good as I did when I was a kid.
