says they get to be about 6-7 inches. if iwere to get some how many could i put into the ol' 55 with an aac 110 on it?

That depends on how much water you want to change and how heavily you feed them. I'd go three, but two might be a more manageable number if they don't kill each other.

well i usually do a 25% water change every week. i can get a lot of 4 of them for 30 dollars. would that be too much, would they attack someone?

I had some sunfish for a while, they seemed to get along with other fish but they were stingy eaters.

Long ears are pretty agro. I've got one in with some pretty tough cichlids and he more than holds his own. 4 may work, but keep a close eye on them.
