Can you guys tell me what fish is crossed in to produce a long fin Oscar? (I'm under the impression they are a hybrid) I've heard they are normally sterile. Has any successfully spawned these fish? Thanks

Longfin Oscar's are just linebred so their offspring have that trait. So no they're not hybrids.

+1 they are not a hybrid, same as long finned angelfish etc. As far as breeding I haven't had any personal experience with long fins but it should be the same as regular oscars just get a few juveniles let them grow together and let them pair on their own. Although I've heard it's not overly easy to breed oscars being that they aren't very sexually dimorphic.
