i heard from a few peeps that long finned or albino fishes dont live as long or more prone to disease compared to normal ones....they have some genetic weekness....is it true?what do u guys think??

BS, my albino is the most active and healthy as anybody. he even survived in my sump for a day.

I think it's true. To get the albino strain or long fins they would have to most likely go through inbreeding. I bought an albino once and it just died for no apparrent reason in less than a week. It was healthy and active then one day just dead.

yeah ive had a fat healthy senegul do that one time too. no signs of anything, just dead like it had a heartattack or somthing. weird

I have 12 albino polys and 4 of them are over 6 years old now and not showing any signs of slowing down. As far as the long-finned varieties, they've only been around a few years. So, how would anybody know how long they may live?
