I wanted to get some opinions on what people thought about the LF Oscars, does anyone have some? Are they pretty hearty? Health Problems?

I was at my LFS restocking on food when I came across them.. I had only seen pictures and was tempted to buy, but they seem like most LF'd fish, slow and a bit stressed.

Thoughts anyone?

Thanks!

long fins are easy targets for fin nipping. other than that they're just the same as regular oscars.

I think they are a nice change from what you normally see as far as oscars go. but they will look like crap if their fins are tore up all the time.

Interesting, first time I've seen one

i was at the petsmart a few weeks back gettting some filter prime etc.. took a look at the fish and there in the oscar tank was this little guy

never seen one before but thought he looks different so I bought him an put him in my fry grow out tank will see how he looks later in life

Saw 2 very nice long fin Albinos at my LFS last week, have never seen LongFinAlbinos ever, not even normal LongFins this nice.

I always wanted one but they were close to impossible to find.

Both of them looked fine, although one was much larger.

I BET a dedicated tank for one, would produce a MASTERPIECE. I've looked for one for so long but never had any luck.

I've always been a BIG fan of butterfly KOI, so long-fin oscars, esp albino longfins have always caught my eye.

I have two, an albino and a red tiger. Other than the longer finnage they act just like any other oscar.
