Hello MFK, I'm a new member from Asheville, NC. I've browsed some of the threads here and found the information to be very helpful. I built a good part of my PVC overflow using plans and information found here!
My fish experience:
I started out about a year ago maybe a little more, with a 10 gallon tank from petsmart that housed an oscar and a jack dempsey (I know right?). I quickly realized that I had a lot to learn, Moved them to a 20 long for about a week then bought my first decent sized tank in a 100 gallon, and moved them in there. Thats when I really started learning and loving the fish keeping hobby. I've done and learned maybe things (one of them being tank repair) In my latest endeavor mentioned above I built a DIY sump with a pvc overflow for my 125 gallon tank.
(I hope you don't mind me adding videos in my introduction)
You can see my initial design here

Then my modified design here

I've done some more mods since then and will show them soon.
I currently have 3 tanks running.
My 125gallon has my PVC overflow/sump system. It currently houses 1 Lutino Oscar 1 Gold Severum and 5 Silver Dollars, before the severum it had a Green Terror (gold saum) and a Jack Dempsey.
The Jack Dempsey had to be rehomed due to aggression issues. Then shortly after the Green Terror had to be moved to one of my other tanks for the same reason.
My 55 Gallon houses Chester, my green Terror who lives up to his name. He is by himself for obvious reasons, but he is currently learning to tolerate the live plants I keep putting in with him
. This tank has my a emperor 400 HOB filter and a Whisper ex70. Its currently without a stand so no sump for this one yet, but I'm sure it will come soon.
My last tank is a 20 gallon that I've had laying around and decided to use to it attempt to breed ghost shrimp. It has about 7 in it now 3 females and 4 males judging only by size so there is a good chance I could be totally wrong. It has a Penguin 350 as its filtration.
..Wow this intro started out as 3 sentences and developed into this?
Anyway thank you for reading and I look forward to learning even more from you all!
