Hey guys I'm from LI, looking for others from here. I'd love to know where you guys go to get your fish,plants,tanks. What's your favorite store? I currently go to pet warehouse on sunrise hwy and tropical showcase. If anyone knows of anywhere better, or even a private seller please let me in!

welcome to mfk.. i am from long island originally... loved it.. but way up in the country now........ miss jones beach and fire island...

Haha apparently ocean parkway got destroyed from sandy, the road buckled too its supposed to be fixed by this summer, but I really doubt it. And your lucky, your where I wanna be!

Welcome fellow long islander. Most impressive tank and selection i've seen is at country critters in Patchogue. That's my favorite Lfs but most of my fish are purchased from our vendors.

Awesome, thanks. I might have to check that place out! What vendors do you mean exactly? Do you mean ordering fish from others on the forum? I'm not familiar with that that but it does seem more convenient and seems to have better prices than a lfs.

Yes. There is a vendor page in the marketplace section. The only downside is the overnight shipping costs. If you order from Mike at RT4 aquarium or Jeff from tangled up in cichlids, shipping will typically be only $20 bc they are in New Jersey

Hey there, Best LFS store by far on the island is AquaHut in Coram. I have picked up some cooe orderesl stuff there over the past year and a half. Don always has some interesting stuff coming in weekly, I am there once a week to see whats new (mind you, a 32 mile drive each way from me). Also, NOBODY touches his prices. The quality is very good as well. I go to petswarehouse as well, but their selection is not as good (always the same variety of cichlids) and their pricing is higher (sometimes alot higher) than aquahuts. I have ordered from Rapps (tangled up in cichlids) a few times as well (actually getting ready to place another order with him within the next week). The shipping has run $32 or so overnite. Where are you located? I am in Plainview.

I'm in massapequa, and coram is really a hike, is it really that great? Haha I like all type of oddball fish and catfish, I'm not huge into cichlid, the only type I really like are peacock bass I'm looking to get another, right now I have a ocellaris, but I'm looking for a temensis. I haven't been able to find any!
