i have a 2800lts tank (740 gallons) stocked with:

2 jaguar
10 midas
2 texas
3 aulonacara
6 mbuna
3 buttis
2 albino algae eaters
5 firemouth
2 green terror

ive had them for a year and a half now but they havent reached full growth yet will i have to move some or will they make it a long for a while, problems till now is algae growth on my front panel does anybody know how to solve this thank you

In the long run, I would expect life to suck for the Firemouthes... actually I'm surprised this hasn't happened at the 18 month point.

The second concern I would have is if you end up with any breeding pairs. Breeding pairs can be pretty rough on tankmates, especially those of the same species (I foresee Midas problems in this regard).

That being said, huge environments allow for many opportunities that even big aquariums cannot. In your situation I would think that the attitude of the individual fish will be the deciding factor... except where breeding comes in, any breeding pair you end up with will be as mean as the pecking order allows them to be...

The thing with cichlids, in my experience anyway, mixed setups almost never last more than 6 months. I have had to seperate my males and females. and I don't expect this to last.

You have a big tank and I think the overstocked tanks cut aggression so if it's been working for you ...I don't know man could last or get ugly next week.

Sounds Like an awesome setup though good luck

Im jealous.

OK this is the part where you post pics and everybody goes:drool:

yes i agree with breeding pairs being a problem. i would go with one fish of different species. then you can watch them and take out the trouble makers and keep the ones that do get along. theres alot of members on here who keep diff species together long term and with that big of a tank i dont see why you couldnt. but mainly the biggest problem i think you will run into is fish of the same species.

need pics to give some proper advice....... ;)
