In the process of building a 350 gallon plywood tank and have used thatfishguys aka monsterfishrescue original tank setup as my guide.

I am wondering has anybody had any long term success using the hardipanel/drylock combination?

I dont want to go through the time and effort of setting up this tank only to have to tear it apart in a year or two simply because the drylock couldn't hold up to the strain.

I know that even he went to pond armor but for different reasons than a long term failure.

I guess I havent seen any posts stating anything longer than about 6 months so far.

If you have any long term success stories I would sure love to hear of them.

Thanks

I built a pond out of brick, only to realize that brick and mortar is not water tight. Painted the inside of the pond (really a 3.5 foot deep fountain) with 2 coats of drylock and its held water for almost 7 years. We are thinking of repainting this year, but only because we used white drylock (all that was available at the time).

My drylok directly on plywood was up for a year w/no noticeable issues. TFG had sumps built in a similar fashion that were in service for two years before they started failing. Pretty sure he blames the original failure of his tank due to build/assembly error not the sealer itself.

Not sure how much that really helps though, good luck w/your project:)
