Is there a parasite that will stay long term not killing the fish? I have a Cuban that appears healthy but has not grown. I also see white stool every once and a while, but I also saw normal colored stool also. It seems to have stopped eating, but is still super active and aggressive. Should I set up a hospital tank? And what should I treat it with? It appears not to eat so med food prov won't work. Thanks

Yes there is and I've seen and cured this with a combination of Metronidazole & Kanamycin. This is a low level infestation of Coccidial (Eimeria sp. and Goussia sp.) infections of the intestinal tract and kidney, respectively, are a common occurrence in young fish where infection can cause poor growth, emaciation. Infections can also be found in adult fish, but the resulting pathology is generally less severe.

Can you post your water parameters Ammonia, Nitrite, nitrate, Ph and hardness if available.

Hardness 80ppm ph 7.5 ammonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate 10-20 ppm alkalinity 120 ppm. Should I set up a 10 gallon hospital tank. And if so what should I treat it with. I already have these. ImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1385307377.369177.jpg

You have to use Metro & Kanamycin. Your water is good for the Kanamycin to be very effective, pimafix will be useless for this. You can also use the Seagrams, stright on the rocks or with some club soda.

So should I set up a hospital tank or treat the whole tank. That tank is a 90 gallon, It has a polleni a Texas and a severum and sun catfish and the cuban. I also have a spare 20 and 10 that are not being used I have seeded sponge filters to use. Let me know what you think. Thanks

I found Kanaplex is this a good medication. Should I use them together or at separate times? Thanks again

If you have a seperate tank use it with a seeded filter and treat using both meds together at full strength according to package directions. Treat for ten days.

Kanaplex is what you want, good stuff.
