Hey folks. I'm new, but not really. I've been doing my fair share of lurking on MFK for some time. I've been interested in MBU puffers since I first saw one at the LFS, and now I have an opportunity I might not be able to pass up.

I came over here (originally) from **************.com.

I was just offered a fantastic deal on the MBU that I've been watching for a long, long while now. I am aware of their size and bioload and their need for a GINORMOUS tank, but I have some questions that I'd like answered before I say no to his smiling little puffer face.

Even though this isn't the correct spot for it, I'm going to throw my questions in this post, and most likely do some more research, then post up a new thread in the proper spot.

How long will I be able to keep this MBU (he's about 3 or 4" now) in an overfiltered 130 or so gallon (I'm still waiting on the exact size of it).

If I throw on a 40 gallon subtrefuge (I think that's what they're called), will it make a big difference, or not so much.

What would my best filtration options be?

Has anyone tried to donate a fish like this to a zoo or aquarium type place? I assume that's where I'll have to go with him once he's too big for his tank....

are there any good options for me and this fish?

He is a bit skinny, but the LFS told me that they've treated him with meds for IPs, but they've found no worms or anything coming out... he is quite active and is always begging for food, so I have some hope for him.

gimme all the info you can! :)
