long white thing

I have a long white thing thats just trailing off my Pbass tail. Its about 4" long and just looks like a part of his tail, but its maybe 1cm wide and 4" long. I cant get a pic right now but does anyone know what it could be?
 
Maybe it is shedding its slime coat?
 
I'll get a pic today. the first thing that came to my mind was flukers, but i'm not an expert on diseases.
 
heres a ****ty pic, the lights are still off. but i hope it can help, it dosn't look like a worm or anything just like a peice of his tail. so i'm leaning towards slime coat.
 
nope, my mom took the good camera and im stuck with a pos. Sorry :(
 
Try removing it with tweezers. Doesn't look like a fluke.
