I caught this little guy while flyfishing for trout on the Current river in southern Missouri a while back. We have these all over Missouri. I probably catch more of these each year than any other type of fish. I figured you guys would appreciate the picture so here it is. He was returned to his cold-water home right after the picture was taken.

That's nice Longear through I noted that this longear do not have white edges on the ear flap.
 
That is the most beautiful longear I have ever seen! I really wish I could keep them in my tank, but they are endangered in Pennsylvania.
 
I find this longear to be odd as you noticed that there are no white edges on ear flap as the normal longears have.

I see that a lot in longears down here. I didn't know the ones up there got the red bellies like Mississippi embayment longears do.
 
I have several of these in my tank. They are spectacular fish along with the Louisiana Longear. Here is a picture from Zimmerman's fish where people like us in Ohio can purchase them to have in our tanks. The Longears in Ohio aren't nearly as colorful.
