What is the oldest working plywood/epoxy tank you guys know of? They seem to be getting bashed on Reef Central lately for supposedly not lasting more than 5 years.

Plywood/fiberglass/epoxy is where the longevity comes in as theres reports of them lasting 15-25yrs....without fiberglass ur asking for problems as a simple flex and crack can ruin the entire tank. Im sure theres some out there in the 10yr range...but why spend the money on something thats not built to last a lifetime.

I've seen some fairly old ones at a public aquarium here, but as mentioned they were epoxied inside and out, as green_terras build on here.

Greenterra used fiberglass inside and out aswell...one of the nicest home builds ive ever seen :) ... i think the o.p. is talking about epoxy only on plywood. Any of the ones that hold up use fiberglass with resin than an epoxy or epoxy/waterproof paint over that.
