Title says it all. I'm looking for my first inhabitants for my native pond. I'm looking for a LONGnose gar, not a florida, spotted, or gator.

I would like them to be under 12" if possible, but still run whatever you have by me.

I'm hoping to have fish in the pond very soon. As long as I'm posting I might as well ask... Does anyone have other suggestions for exotic cold water fish? Could I add a sturgeon or 2 into this mix? Can any rays tolerate 60 degrees? Pickerel?

When they're available I'm adding big crappies and 8-10" smallies, and probably a channel cat.

Thanks guys I look forward to hearing from you.

Are Longnoses cold hardy ? I have a pair, and keep them in a heated tank for the sake of tankmates, but this made me curious.

Hit me up come Spring, and I'll hook you up with some smallmouth bass that were born and raised in my pond; I know that I have some around that size as well as some much larger one, too.

Their range is from southern Canada to northern Mexico, so they can definitely survive under some pretty cold conditions as well as fairly warm conditions.

I can get everything else I'm getting from a hatchery by my house so the prices are dirt cheap with no shipping. I just need someone to get me the bowfins longnose and sturgeons.

Okay, I'll see what I can do as far as longnose gars go; I've never found the other two fishes before.

I've got a really nice Longnose gar available. More info if you search my closed for sale thread-this fish is still available.
