im wanting to do a 10 gallon nano and iv been looking at the yellow stripe clingfish, from what iv read they do very well with diadema urchins. it seems that they may use them as not only a source of protection but also as a source of food, similar in a sense to a clown fish and it's anemone. its been very hard finding info on these things... the clingfish too actually but thats a different subject. any advice on keeping these?

Keeping these two together are fine...They are commonly found living together in the natural habitat....A concern here is your tank size..Some urchins can get to about 8 inches ( including spine length ) in captivity...I would suggest a diadema urchin is not suitable to your tank size..

Actually, the only thing difficult about finding information that you may want, is knowing exactly what you are looking for. Diadema is a catch all for a large group of urchins and can have you going in circles. What you are looking for is the specific species, which I believe the one you want is Diadema setosum.
Below I threw in some links which should provide you with all the information your little heart desires, and transform you into an urchin master. :)
