I offered to take this off someone's hands a while back when they were clearing out some and convicts and really didn't expect much from it. 9 years old, broken spine when it was still juv and when I got it the convicts had made a mess of its fins. Most definitely blind, bites my hand whenever I clean or rearrange but doesn't bother other fish or get bothered. Just have to drop food right on its head else it starts knocking stuff over after a couple days of missing all the food.

If anybody remembers that 43 year old pacu thread from a couple days ago here is more proof. Fish CAN live a long time in bad conditions...
Not trying to hijack the thread just saying... Keep us updated!

No one ever said that they can't so proof of such conditions is not needed.

I put my bets on this fish living 20+ years. Especially with a MFKr.

Don't stop there, might as well put them at 43.

He is so cute, he's a survivor, be proud man!

This fish continues to amaze me. For one the cloudiness has receded from one eye and she seems to be able to see a little better. More importantly; she found a man! Not expecting much due to her previous injuries/deformities but it's still nice to see. They've been at it for 10 days or so and he's been surprisingly gentle, unlike with the other smaller female in the tank.
