Getting some 2 fry (fries?) from this guy here but not for a month or two out - one silver male and one gold male (I have already included them in my sig/tank below). Saums are my favorite fish, I do have Stalsbergi from Rapps but I personally like the personality and coloration of a nice Saum over a Stals.

Have you had success keeping saums with tapajos in the past, or do do you plan on moving them when needed? If I had an empty tank it would be stocked around a gold saum and constantly contemplating trying one in hopes to get a mellow one.

I have never kept Tapajos with Saums, however there are currently two other users here on MFK that currently are doing it that I have conversed with. I have also kept Saums in the past and know that their personality really does range - I had a breeding pair in a community type setup with zero issues and another Saum I had could hang with some rough Centrals just fine.

Right now my Tapajos are right around the 2.5" mark, I won't be getting the Saum fry from this stunning guy for another month or so (4-6 weeks) so that gives my Taps a bit more time to grow. I am hoping that with the Taps being in the tank first and being a bit larger then the Saums that things will get along nicely as others have experienced. However, with that said I have two 75g tanks on stand by - meaning I already have them accounted for in case either or both Saums need to be removed.
