Hello,

My cousin is breeding FH's, he has male FH and a female RD that both have great coloring, I got these 2 when they were about 1/4", the first 2 pic's are of the bigger one (male??? 3-4in) he was always dark colored till I put them in a 150g now he is very bland. The other one (female??? 2-3in) stays pretty dark. Neither of them is showing the nice red that the father has. They are in with a small GT, 2 silver $$'s, 1 rainbow fish and a sun cat. Togethor they are the dominant fish.

What do you think of their potential to become colorful adult FH's??

Can anyone confirm their sex?

Will the kok's grow or are they hard, the father has a good size bump on his head.

I am feeding them the same food that the parents eat.

Thanks,

hard to say, but doesn't look like it yet. That could change, body is pretty nice, and has some kok potential. Once it gets 3-4 inches you should have a better indicator to the color it will get.

thanks for the input, he is about 3-4 inches so far but was always dark colored when I had him in a 30g community tank till he was about 2in, then i put him in a 150 with an O, JD, Front & Green Severum, all were alot bigger than the FH, but they are all gone and he shares the tank with only a few harmless tankmates. the water is very clean, I have 2 emp 400's and 2 magnum 220's working. I know it looks like a RD fry but it is definately fry from a male FH & female Rd.

any other input is appreciated
