Look at your Gars' bellies, flies! so they clearly eat flies. Have you tried crickets? Feeder fish? Any pellets? Nice tank set up, your Gars do look like a Shortnose to me but then I could be wrong...the only reason I say so is because of the snout's thickness.I like how one of your Gars is hiding in that PVC setup, he looks cute in there. And that's a smart idea with the PVC.

Thank you for sharing:) . They could be Longnose Gars, what's the plan for them in the future as they grow up to 6 feet in length? ( If they are Longnose )

I also think they look like shortnose. Again i could be wrong as well.
No matter what gar species they are, that tank will be too small for them in the near future.
Muhammad Saad, you know that you are going to need to buy a bigger tank don't you?

Lovely pictures though. And yes your gars look great.
Do not feed the gars for a day or two, then try feeding them pellets.

look more pictures my gars and they are eating flies.in the pictures you see they eat lflies clearly.i try to give them big tank.

Dude they are shortnosed....

Take it from someone that very much knows his gars and has had over 900 Longnosed and 150 some odd shortnosed juveniles at one time or another in his possesion or sampled in the wild over the past 20 years.

I'd be happy to explain to you the differences if you care to listen. I'm not going to waste my time though if your not going to do so.

I understand that there very well could be translation errors here so let me know how to best give you this information.

Good call Polypterus :)

Muhammad Saad, how good is your translations? Because my concern was that you may interpret some things that we say wrongly.

Those are some great pictures though. But as i said, you really need a bigger tank for your gars as soon as possible.
Also, may i suggest not having your substrate (gravel) so thick, it does not need to be that deep and takes up a lot of water volume.
