Well i got these 2 jags 2 days ago and guess what they bred 2day.:headbang2:headbang2:headbang2:headbang2:headbang2I was surprised:WHOA: but i have a question. Well i thought they wouldnt breed for some time so i just divided off part of one of my bigger tanks and well eggcrate kinda allows fry to get to the other side where my pbass are. So what should i do? Should i just move the eggs to another tank? Is it okay if i just dump some water from the tank into a 10 gallon and add a sponge filter from my other tank? Should i move the parents also? Or any other ideas will be great. Thanx in advance

I would move the eggs and the parents.....but I don't know if this will cause the parents to eat the eggs??? I have never moved anything when eggs were layed. I always let nature take it's course. Had lot's of hiding spots tho. Found a baby in one of the cannisters once. Gave it to my daughter and she called it Filter!!Always came out with a few that made it to adulthood.

i moved a pair with its' free swimming frys and parents still watched after them but i think it's the pairs personality cuz one time the female ate the eggs and the male beat the snot out of her

You could move the eggs to a 10 gallon w/ m blue in it w/ a sponge filter and heater. Use water from the parent tank to fill it then put the rock w/ the eggs on it. When they hatch and swim up you can then start feeding them newly hatched brine shrimp. I do this w/ angels, chocolates, ect. This works good if you have extra tanks to grow out the fry. Your parent fish may spawn agian ASAP which may cause you additional problems.

hey ur divider u should cut out a window screen that fits it because the holes are small and i doubt most fry will not pass thru it.

Hey how do u get the eggs out without them biting u? I already tried and they keep ramming me and stuff. Also some eggs are turning white. What should i do to get them out. R these the ones with fungus?
