So I got home today and I see a head and jaw!
It would appear my payara 8-10 inch has been attacked and eating. With nothing but a head and jaw left. I assume my two plecos gobbled up most of the body, but I’m really unsure who did the attack. That took him out I’ve attached how I found him in pics and a few tank shots of what his tank mates were. Most fish have been together 1-3 years never any aggression between anyone just thought I’d share

two arrowana
Two dats
Two giant gourmi
Two Clown knifes
Two pleco (royal , common )
Three geos
1 oscar
1 flagtail
1 flowerhorn
1 Bichir

My guess is that the fish may have died naturally or been stressed and then the flowerhorn plecos and Oscar started feasting then then at least one of the arowana have to of had to try to eat it at some point. I’m sorry for your loss.

You got silvers or jars? I wouldn’t put it past a jar to kill a vamp. But it looks like silvers I’m the pics.
I’d agree it must have been natural causes, either stress or a latent disease. Stress seems the most likely, as even if it is okay for years, many of those fish, especially the cichlids, will hit a breaking point and decide the tank isn’t big enough to share.
Plecos and geos must have taken it from there.

How big is the tank? After growing for years the fish may have started to get more and more aggressive due to space . And just the payara was first on the chopping block.
