So on friday I want to feed some smelt to my fish. I open the box, and a fish which was clearly not a smelt caught my attention. I've had sticklebacks in those boxes, but never something this cool.
Actually it pisses me off, since I always wanted a live one this size, and then I find one in my fish food :D
Anyone gonna guess what it is?
The scale is cm, not inches btw.

Nope it's not a hamlet.. a clue is, it is freshwater... It is found brackish sometimes though ;)
 
Wahey!! I used to fish them weekly near my home. Biggest one was well over a foot!!
Even had one in my tank for a while! Great fish to keep!!
Knew I'd get the last name wrong lol I would really like to keep a Zander/Pike Perch. See what there like, although renowned to be most active dusk and dawn!

They are very cool aquarium/ pond fish,yeah :)
I'd love a Zander, too, but my pond isn't suitable for them.. Maybe I'll dig a predator pond in the summer and put a Zander and an albino Wels in there :D
