i was cleaning my pond and i decided to put these two in my tank.
my female red dragon and red monkey flowerhorn.

my red dragon. it's starting to show red colour just behind her gills. she's only 2 inches when i first bought her about 5 weeks ago. now she's about 4 inches. man, she grows so fast ! :grinno:

Nice looking fish, I like that Red Monkey. Are you going to keep them housed together?
 
If it was sold to your uncle as red monkey he was duped.

does the length of fins differentiate it? as you can see, my fish has longer fins.
my uncle gave me the female but he kept the male. and from wht i see, his male started to fade now and his kok's getting bigger. wht does tht mean ?
 
The difference is in the shape and face of a red monkey, it basically looks like a solid red vieja syn with its short snout, as opposed to Rd's longer almost beak like mouth.

All Rd's fade, some will also start developing a hump as they grow.

okay. so mine's a red devil? but its anal is shaped like a 'U', as what i know is a female. do people use the same way to identify its gender as they do on flowerhorns ?
 
Yep exact same way, which goes for most cichlids.
