Moorish Idol. I had never seen one before, and I can see why the demand is so high. Amazing fish. Phone pics, sorry.

Almost enough to make me want to set up a salt tank again...VERY nice.

BTW, it is not mine. It was sold already, and I don't have a proper tank anyway.

i remember years ago when they were around more.

def a great fish to have!

I believe they are threatened now. I probably shouldn't promote the keeping of this species, but it was an awesome fish.

:iagree: Some fish just belong in the wild.. This fish is incredibly hard to keep and acclimate to home aquaria.. If it's been healthy and living in home aquaria for a while, it's a great fish.. Unfortunately the new owner will probably kill it.

I wish aquarium keeping persons would realize when a fish is un-keepable or un-realistic in home aquaria, and take steps to make sure it's wild population isn't threatened.

PS. anyone got bald eagles for sale?

This one actually is a good eater. I agree with you Miles, some fish shouldn't be kept in aquaria simply due to success rate, and this species has a history of a poor success rate. It is a great fish though.

Totally agree! Would love to have one but they rarley last per almost 99% of reports. As as for the trade not moving them..LOL

These are the same guys that sell Black tip reef sharks, Nurse Sharks, and Green Moray's.

As long as they sell they will be in the trade live or die.

Sad but true.
