Looked at sticky, Still cant ID

Hey guys. I looked at the sticky to attempt to ID a gar i recently received from a guy i bought a tank from. I was unable too, and would appreciate some help. I've never had a gar before, and i was told by the same guy that it was a alligator gar. I've researched them quite a bit, because Ive always wanted one, and I'm pretty sure it isn't a gator. I'm just looking for some info, because i probably wont keep him, and if i decide to sell him or give it to one of my friends, I would at least like to know what it is. Thanks.

Sorry for pic quality. I only had my cell, and the reflections were quite bad on the pics when hes in the tank.

Again, try not to flame me, I looked at all the links in the sticky, and i just really can't tell the difference.

Thanks. I would be pissed if i didn't get it for free. Are they cool fish? Im considering keeping him but I'm not sure how he will do with a few peacock bass and a silver arro of about the same size. What do you think?

Its hard to not love a fish that gets its teeth stuck in your net when you try to get a good picture.

Yup. Def Florida. I have one at 16" they are a great fish. I also have a gator but if you don't have or want to upgrade to a 1000+ gal tank he will be much better than a gator gar. I would keep him
