ok, i have a really cool little 10 gallon tank with a bunch tetras, hatchets, and corys........well that is gettin old, i need a monster....or semi-monster. so time to do a quick conversion.....i don want those little fish to die slowly, i prefer they go out quickly.
i need a fish that wont have a hardtime making short work of a few corydoras. so i was thinkin puffer.....

my favorite lfs near me got some brazillan freshwater puffers, think one of them is mean enuff to do the job? or ne other little monsters that would be fun in a 10 gallon? im willing to try anything.............

Can't you just trade them the contents for the Puffer?

yea the let fish live and give them away, no need to feed them to a fish. especially a fish as cool as the cory cat.

lol i think u already know my answer from my name ! trade in the fish for some dwarf puffers, and then just feed them snails not corys!

There's no real monsters you can put in a 10 gallon. Even the brazilian puffer is quite peaceful for a puffer. I've seen them at an LFS in a community tank. Plus you would have to do some dentistry on it once in a while to keep it's teeth in check.

cory cats will kill you puffer for sure . they have spikes on the little fins so when fish try to eat them the spikes stick in the fishes mouth that wants dinner . this will kill both the puffer and the cory . so dont do it . trade them in at your LFS or just give them a quick funeral and flush . lol lol lol

but really will kill your puffer

What about a Gigas, or turn it over to salt and get a Megalodon..

:j/k:

Get a paradise gourami.

I agree with the general trend here, but look into one of the Phagos as a sigle fish per small tank monster to replace the cories after you trade them off. If nothing else, consider that cories are potentialy lethal feeders, they often get stuck in the throats of those that try to eat them, that is why they are such a successful group.

ya, i must not have been thinking striat when i wrote this.......i know that cories can cause trouble with all their armor and spines.
im sure my gar, dat, and bichir would like a few neon and hatchet snacks;) and then i guess i will trade in the cories for like $2 or sumthin. was just kind of hoping that the puffer might be able to spare me the trouble.......

i really dont see troble or hassel in collecting all the fish you dont want and taking them to the lfs where your new puffer is, and asking for a trade:nilly:

it saves you some cash, avoids possible difficultiys, and everyone lives... win win.:headbang2
