The thing I'm wondering about is the fact that it's rimless. That just means it doesn't have like the frame around the top right? Is that okay? Will it still work? & can't I buy a rim from glasscages (if necessary)?

If for whatever reason, the link doesn't work, This is all it says...

I have a acrylic aquarium 72 x36 footprint,16'' tall ,tank, metal stand, and ,drilled with filteration... first $800 gets it top completely open, great for corals or large fish.

...
No pics, so I texted him for pictures

I'm just not so sure about the rimless part.. is that just the frame piece That goes along the outer edges?

hard to say if u could put a rim on it.. I would ask him if it ever had a rim...

Alrighty. Is it okay to not have a rim? I just figured they had them for support. How would I go about a lid?

Yes many tanks have no rims. Some tanks over 16" need a center brace. That's why its probably exactly 16". If you want a lid. I would pick up a large piece of glass and fit it to the tank. Silicon that onto the top. Then cut out Certain parts and use handles or suction cups for opening it. That's my opinion. Or you can make your own out of plastic.
