My 18" Dovii killed his girlfriend after a successful 1st spawn. I removed the female and the fry to a 90 gallon so she could tend to the fry. Returned the female to him about 2 weeks later and he snapped and took her out. Looking to get another one, preferably a proven egg layer. Willing to travel a little ways from Naugatuck CT. for the right fish. Next spawn I'll just remove the fry and leave her in the 300 with him.

She’s never bred before but has laid eggs without a male. I’ve never been able to get my hands on a bigger male so never got the chance to breed her.
