I have been in Costa Rica on holiday this summer, and ofcourse i went fishing,I didn't catch cichlids myself, but i saw a lot of dead cichlids on the market, and people catching them with nets.
I fell in love with cichlids again, and i am looking for a Costa Rican Cichlid that fits in my 85gal,and can be combined with channa pleurophthalma(5inch).
which species of cichlids are interesting for me?(scientific names)
Thanks Bro's!

is the jaguar cichlid an option?

Not in an 85 but a Mota or Freddie is.

what are the scientific names of mota and freddie?
how about Uaru's? are they possible?

Parachromis motaguensis or Parachromis friedrichsthalii both are similar to a Jag but stay smaller. Uaru gets too big IMO for an 85 and really do better if not kept as a single specimen, altough it could be done.

Uaru's grow to about 12 right?,a friend of mine is keeping Uaru's,he has 3 of them in a 100gallon tank with heros and oscars.

although I really like your suggestion of the 2 parachromis species, you think those species wil work with Channa Pleuros?
