I would try more than that, i would say a xp4 and a sump. i'm running a sump with a mag 12 and a chinese made fx5(called a cfs 500) on my 180g

I would get a Eheim 2262.

The difference between a XP3 and a XP4 is a extra media tray in the XP4. The extra tray isn't worth the extra money.

That because i'm a sump kinda guy and only have about $250 in mine, and its the easiest design i've ever had, thanks to jose. i wasn't saying the 2262 wasn't a good filter, i know it is. plus i like plumbing them.
