Recently bought a brand new HP Desktop (3 weeks ago).

6GB of ram
Quad AMD Athlon 2.8ghz
1 TB HD

That's all I really know about it. It's been running TERRIBLY slow. At first I thought it might be normal because of Windows 7. I don't "misuse" the computer in anyway to obtain viruses, but regardless, I have run Anti Virus Programs and Malwarebytes but nothing comes detected.

Currently another member has my computer (he tried to help), and says possibly something wrong with the "bios"?

Again, I don't understand computer lingo...just know that I can't even load up the "control panel" without it taking 7-10 minutes to load up that window.

One error I recall was "missing or corrupt mpr.dll".

It's still under warranty, but I prefer to make something work locally without having to go through HP'S customer service.

Let me know what you're asking and if you can fix it, I'll try to make it happen.

If not, I'll just go through the dreaded HP customer service.

Please PM.

If you send me your cell number and download crossloop which is free I can take a look right now.

I don't have my pc on me right now. Another member that was trying to help is dropping it off for me tonight.

Let me explore my options and when I get the pc back tonight, I will contact you tomorrow.

Thanks for your offer.

I forgot to mention, I did a "factory" restore to put my computer back to how it was when I first received it. The mpr.dll error went away, but the computer then became very slow...(don't even think there is a word to describe the sluggishness).

Thanks again for all the PM's and help.

I did contact HP and they want me to stay on the phone doing step by step processes, which I explained to them is not easy to do when the computer responds to a mouse click every 5 minutes or so.
