I'm looking for a new pike. I have cobras, xingu I, xingu III, and cincta. I want to get something new and I have a whole 125 for a new pike or 2 to live in and I really do not know what to buy or where to buy it. I'm looking for any advise or help you can give me. I am willing to spend more than a few bucks on the right pike!! :D

Crenicichla Semifasciata. My favorite fish. Very intelligent and pretty hardy.

lents. and marms. are expensive right now, give them a few months and they will start to go down hopefully. A pike that I think doesn't get enough credit and is TOTALLY awesome, crazy tempted to get some myself, is Crenicichla acutirostris. They are slender, passive, and just stunnin for color. They have the most color contrasts and pattern of almost any pike out there. An adult female in breedin coloration could give lents or marms. a run for their money. That being said, where are the pictures of the xingu III!! :D I've got some xingu IIs...sooo...maybe we could swap some! :D

Yeah those are awsome lookin'. How about Crenicichla jegui? Anyone ever seen these for sale? They look like serious predators. Big mouth supposedly. My kind of fish.

They ARE serious predators...not as active as most pikes though since their swim bladder is atrophied...:(. They have HUGE mouths...lemme tell yaz. I know someone that had one that ate some of his silver dollars...it died, but it still ate them...lol. Silver dollars aren't small fish...and I haven't seen them for sale for quite a while. Rather aggressive too, DO NOT like other pikes...:(
