I have been using a Mag drive 9.5 for the longest time, was on my old 200 gallon, but now i am around 380 gallons.

Pump seems to be acting up lately, sometimes it wont kick back on when i shut it off for water changes.

Been reading about DC pumps now, not sure if i should go that route.

Currently the pump is submerged, but i can drill a bulkhead if needed.

My main thing is a quiet pump.

Thanks!
Budget no more than 400.

The Mag Drive 9 looks to have under 1000 at 0 head height. How much turnover will you want for a 380 gallon?

Most DC pumps are going to be fairly silent, but you'll want one that can provide the turnover too. With the budget in mind perhaps look at the 1 or 2 Jebao?

I've got a jebao running my 300g pond. Dcp10000. It's pretty quiet really puts out a lot of flow. Can use submersible or external, using mine submersible. Way more efficient then the power hog mag drive you've been using. You could get 2 for $400. Mine has been going strong for about a year now.

I'm used to using reef flo pumps. Last house all tanks were run off the same sump with a hammerhead, sump was in the basement. Not able to (really don't want to or need to) do that set up in my new house. Was in to reef keeping and ran a few different reefflo products, all great pumps. I've got a hammerhead gold collecting dust right now, I don't have a current need for a pump that will put out 4200g at 15' lol.

+1 on the jebao dcp pumps. I recently picked up 2 10000s for around only $300 on amazon. They're highly controllable, but not overly complex, just two buttons to control flow rate and a pause button. Noise is negligible.

The current usa pump is also good, mine is the quietest pump ive ever had. I have the 1900 gph model though.

i did not see your price requirements,

ecotech does have battery back up and reeflink features...

Im trying to find the flow charts for the Jabao pumps, cant seem to find it?
