Something with good color/pattern that gets 12" max

Green dragon pleco. No real pattern, but nice color, and about 7" max. Nice long fins, too.

This(sailfin) is a bad choice, they can get up over 20 inches.

Yeah.... Mines over 6" in 8months but it gets along with my community tank really well so far...and it sure is pertty

The biggest I had was 15 inches. My eye doctor has one that"s 21 inches.

I've got one of these, bulldog pleco; they can be very attractive in the right tank, no idea on Max size, can't imagine more than 7"
