Anyone local have one for sale / trade? Would rather not ship, but if I cant find one in the next couple of weeks I may consider....

Thanks
Chris

check aquarium adventures in hoffmen estates they have had gars in the past

Mike at H20 will be your only sure choice should he have any left...Last I knew he did still have a few.

Might be a few foolish people getting rid of them but I'm not aware of many around Chicago...There are very few of these fish in the country and those that are around, you pretty much need to expect to grab them up as they show up on the market. There are less than 100 of these fish in the US (Number is actually in the 50's) and they are not imported with any regularity. If you care to get them you need to jump on them quickly.

Foolish? And BTW there are way more than 100 in the country now. This was the case last year at this time. There have been several shipments in at this point..... I have even seen them FS through Aquabid in 50 lots. Legit.

Anyway Bump!

That being said, I will be checking with Mike, thanks for the lead.

It is foolish to get rid of these fish....they are not common and are by far the best aquarium gar species.

Actually no.. there are not that many and there have been only 3 shipments of these fish.. 1st one from Shark Aquarium numbering about 25 fish, 2nd a Nicaraguan group brought in by Jeff rapps (Oddball bought all of them) 3rd from H20 where Mike brought in around 50 plus a few of the white morph ones. The ones on aquabid where never sold and are still in Mexico and never imported. Myself and a couple others here are in touch with the Farm that produces these for export in Mexico.(As we helped setup both shipments). We generally know when they are headed this way...

Anyhow good luck..
and another bump for you...

Richard is correct I imported 50 and only 35 came in alive and, Still have a few left there 7" and eating anything you drop in the tank price is $ 125ea.

I assume you would ship to Midway in Chicago? I would take 2 of them and would need to arrange for arrival here on Friday night. PM me with some details and I should be able to PP you tomorrow.

Thanks,
Chris
