I have a 55 gallon Lake Tanganyika Tank

Residents have/will have: 3 Lamprologus Brevis, 4 Synodontis Lucipinnis, 1 Eretmodus Cyanostictus, 10 Cyprichromis Leptosoma "Utinta", 3 Chocolate rabbit Snails, 15 Nerite Snails, and 1 Platythelphusa Crab

I'm searching for another type of fish to inhabit the rockwork whether it be one or a pair

Either alto species will be fine. Avoid ctenochromis - they get way too big for your tank and are aggressive. Careful in the diet that you feed that goby. They're extremely sensitive to bloat, and require the same level of specialized care that tropheus require to thrive. If you can find them, altolamprologus fasciatus are awesome fish too and more rare than the typical altos that you see around.

I think that calvus would be good.

Any Specific Variant? I like the White Chaitika but are there other good looking ones

Good, I was hoping someone had input on the Ctenochromis... I've just seen very vague information on them... and Yes I've been really careful with the Goby... I've had a few close calls because he comes out right away when I feed and I normally feed the Brevis protein filled food... and of course he gobbles it up right away... But I've started feeding Spirulina pellets as well... And Just today when I made this I looked up Altolamprologus and saw the fasciatus... I was surprised since I just thought there was Calvus and Compressiceps but I like the looks of the fasciatus as well... So If I see one I will probably get it

I have something else to add.... Mastacembelus Tanganyicae or Mastacembelus Plagiostoma? Would you add either of these two to the tank?

Can't help you there. That's one of the few fish from tanganyika I have not kept at some point. I would make sure they wont eat your shell dwellers though

That was one of my concerns for both of the eels... I don't know if they'd be able to eat the adults... but if I ever plan on breeding them... they'd definitely eat the fry

So I have 3 people who say Altolamprologus Calvus but none of them suggested which variant... But I looked around and at Dave's Rare Aquarium Fish he has Altolamprologus Compressiceps Lufubu 'Dark Red' and they look pretty cool

Check out the various black calvus. Inkfin, or otherwise. I had some from the congo that were amazing fish. Hope your a patient person if you're buying tank raised fish...they grow slower than anything I've ever seen, even when kept in optimal conditions

My favorite are Zaire black. I think I have close to ten of these guys.
