Has anybody had their eels spawn in their tanks before? If so, which species, what type of tank (dimensions please!) and how did they spawn? I'd like to know what the general aquarium eel spawning behavior is like. It'd be especially useful if you have information about snowflake eels (Echidna nebulosa), dragon eels (Enchelycore pardalis), or golden pencil eels (Gymnothorax melatremus)!

Have you considered contacting public aquaria in this regard? Given the very cryptic breeding habits of eels I doubt much breeding has happened in captivity..
Mostly I've been curious about spawning events within private collections, since I've only heard of accounts of eel spawning/rearing as an induced effort with what I think are Japanese anguillid eels, and not the morays most people keep.
Interesting that they have done Anguilla, do they not usually migrate as ribbons? Apparently moray eels have largish larvae. Will be interesting to see!
