Can you guys tell me exactly where to score some drip emitters? Links would be appreciated. I've scoured the stores around here and got more confused looks then I care to even discuss.

Got another water dept call today. I scored a new high. 17K gallons last month. 700 yesterday. Been having some issues and have been running drips pretty hard. Trying to flush tanks out before filtration upgrades. Needless to say I'm scoring pretty well on Nitrate readings right now. A TRUE under 5ppm.

I would like to have a better idea on flow rather then the "valve being at 2:30" Or "an 8 beer pee" so I'd like to step away from valves and towards a fixed metered orifice.

Thanks in advance for any help!!!

I simply have an hma filter from devotedly discus, I have a capillary flow restrictor so that is cannot flow much more than 30 gals per hour...you really don't need more than 30 gals per day.

I then have a normally closed solenoid on the supply water, this comes on with a timer (mine is set on aquatronica) at 8pm, if there is a power cut it snaps shut. (saves chilling the water if the heaters are off)

I then have an irrigation timer to come on at 8pm and go off at 9 pm...this way I have a fail safe.

Then I have a high level sensor on the sump, if the waste pipe blocks or freezes the solenoid snaps shut.

My nitrate is always under 25ppm.

Stay away from those Lowes/Home Depot drip emitters. They suck! And they clog easily. Buy them here. Scroll down the page, look at the TC5, 10, and 20 part numbers. These have a removable top for cleaning. I bought a bunch to have them on hand.

Don't forget, you'll need a pressure regulator also. They need 10-40psi to work properly. Anything more and you risk blowing the cap off, squirting water all over the room. Trust me, I know :D

That is the place where I bought them too after Jose recommended them to me. But I did not realize they were different than the home depot ones.

Yeah the home depot ones don't have a removable top for cleaning. Also, these have a larger diaphragm than a standard emitter, so they won't clog as easily.

J you're the man.....

Hats off to you, without you I'd be lost cause you seem to be the one that ends my threads everytime.
