My brother is looking for a good place to buy an alligator snapping turtle online. He has done extensive research and knows about all there is to know. He is wanting to buy a baby that he can start in a 125 gallon aquarium. Yes, he has done his research and continues to do his research.

Yeah, Loggerhead acres is the biggest and best producer of them in the country. They sell leucistic allys as well, ands lots of other turtles. Turtlesale.com has a nice selection of turtles too. Worth a look even if they dont have allys at the moment.

Good luck!

i had a bad experience with turtlesale.com. i got 3 baby RES and they all caught some disease and died shortly after their arival. email this guy and ask if he has and snappers chelidman@ tampabay.rr.com . i got a texas map turtle off of him and it is a very healhy little guy. i found him over at kingsnake

Catch them where I used to live I could all the Time...be CAREFUL with those things they can put 1,000+ Pounds of Pressure when they bight.

It's illegal to catch them out of the wild and keep them. I beleive they are CITES Appendix 1 now. Its better to have CB anyway, for you and the turtles sake.

Hi, I was interested in turtlesale.com too but were you able to get your money back?

Turtleman.com is better for snappers anyway, and turtlesale didnt have any last time I checked (a few days ago). Just go with turtleman.

cool pet if your really going to take care of it its hard and dangerus to clean there tank they mainly sit in on spot and wait for there food but can move quick under water when they wan't to and could take your hand off if it bit you and they get huge of course but they also live a long time like 60-80 years long

They arent dangerous to handle or clean. Avoid the head, its pretty easy. They don't want to waste energy to hurt you anyway, no animal does. A small one is easy to lift out of the tank anyway during cleaning. Just watch your hands.

They can live 150+ years. Include it in your will. There have been adult snappers found with civil war musket balls in their shells from the 1800s and earlier. So yeah, take that into consideration.
