To really know it's a male it'd have to be a tad bigger than the biggest you want.. there was one on Water..... 500.00 shipped..

Rapps doesn't sell sexed umbie's and when he does there's no guarentee. I bought a sexed male.. it's a female. you'll have to buy small ones and grow out.. The males are so expensive because either through luck/genetic/variances in breeding/raising in fry most are females with very few males.

i was just gunna plan on buying like 10 fish or whatever

i say wait for jeff. according to his website he is getting a shipment of WC umbees. see if he can sort out a male for you. probably better than buying 10 small ones and ending up with 1 fish you want and 9 fish you need to get rid of (if they don't get killed off).
