Looking for another gar

I want to know what type of gar would be the best (but gets the biggest) in a 100 gallon tank

I had a Asian needle nose gar. I'm debating getting another one of them. Is that really my only option?

most gars would outgrow a 100gal, or at least get too large to live comfortably in a 100gal. but it would make for an excellent grow out tank. could you elaborate a little on the actual dimensions of the tank, the tankmates you plan on adding the gar to and any possibility of upgrading the tank?

if what you have is a standard 1.5' wide 100gal, then alligator, cuban, longnose and tropical gars are definitely out of the question.

the tank is 4 feet long the width is 18 inches and its 2 feet tall. I have two eclipse catfish, jack Dempsey, and jade goby when my tire track eel gets bigger i might put him in there

i wouldnt put a gar in that tank unless it was a empty grow out tank just to grow it out

since you probably like the look and shape of gar, u might be interested in getting a fresh water baracuda or hejuta gar. both are characins, so look in the other monster fish;other characins section for something that fits what you want.they stay relatively small compared to true gar so they would do great in ur 100. good luck!

I think im gonna get a hejuta gar. are they the same as a rocket gar fish?
