Looking for Copper info.

Okay

Tap water: pH 4.5-5, hardness 1 degree max, COPPER 2.0mg/l
Tank water: pH 7.8, hardness 6-7 degrees, COPPER 0

I know that the tap water has copper b/c the acidic water is "eating" my copper pipes.

I use Tap Water Conditioner (detoxifies heavy metals).
- Will that make my water completely copper free or is it just masking it or does it not have any effect on copper?
- With a pH reduction, will copper become present or "released" within the tank?

I need to be sure that the copper is gone from the water and not just hidden.

Doesnt answer your specific question about your water conditioner, but it could help. I dont think your water conditioner can effectively remove the copper, but I dont know enough to comment accurately.
