Looking for Criticism + Comments on a Personal Banner

Hi All,
Made this in Photoshop CS3 earlier today I was pleased with the result.
Here it is:

Sharpened -

Which do you think is better, Sharpened or Unsharpened?

And if any members here want a banner I'll make you one just PM me

unsharpened...although the difference is very hard to notice...the sharpened one looks a bit too messy..

Unsharpened, I would also add a better light source (new layer soft brush- set to overlay). Lastly, for banners/signatures like such, adding a black border really does wonders. Below I have the light source bottom left, and black borders on the sides:

I can't tell one from the other very much but I guess the top one looks better...I'm guessing you will come up with a really nice avatar picture pretty soon.
