Looking for Cuban Gars...

I'm desperately looking to purchase a Cuban Gar and can't find anyone who has them in the Vendor forum. I was hoping that someone may know where I could obtain one and for around what price? I would greatly appreciate any help anyone could give me. I was also interested in any info on keeping them successfully. I googled Cuban Gars and their described as delicate yet nothing I've read tells me how or what they need to be kept successfully. So please any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for those that try to help me.

i can get you a ~22" cuban for USD200-330. so it depends on how bad you want one. it'll be really hard to export one over. but i'm pretty sure it could be done. you could fly here to make things easier.

on keeping them, long term, nothing under a 2.5' wide tank, preferbly 3'wide. growth rates slow to almost zero levels between 18-24". i've heard of 3' specimens kept in ponds. keep conditions very stable, especially pH. use aragonite to buffer the pH. any amounts of nitrites and ammonia stress them out. reputed as the second most aggressive true gar. that's the bare basics you would need, read the thread solomon provided above, i think it should answer most of your questions, good luck on your search! i know i had loads on mine:cool:
