Looking to find a heater controller that will do more then one heater. Ive got about 500-600w between 2 heaters id like to control. They are both in my sump. Id like to add the heater controller for added protection and safety instead of relying on the heaters themselves.

Ive been looking at Finnex and Coral Vue controllers right now. They are around the $50 range but have only 1 outlet for a heater. Or do those of you that use these controllers plug them into a strip and the heaters into the strip?

Get a Ranco Controller.

JEHMCO.com sells them and you can add an outlet for an additional $7.

They come with a temp probe attached. I used the ETC-1R.

Well.. Im pretty handy with electronics. I found an ETC-111000-000 ranco controller for $45.00 including shipping. Then I just need to seal the probe with clear 3/8 heat shrink. Wire in my cords the way I want. Good to go will handle 1800 watts of heater.

Ive got 2 heaters. Both are Via Aqua Titanium heaters. 300W each, with their own built in temp controllers. Should be redundant enough.

Another vote for the Ranco controller.

If you are looking for a reliable product, Ranco is going to be much better than Finnex or Coral Vue. Ranco's are used for all sorts of industrial applications and they are tried and true whereas aquarium controllers aren't much better (if at all) than the actual heater units built-in controller.
