Anyone ever have experience with these? Anyone ever have them in stock and what price do they usually run? thanks.

I have one thats about 9 inches now. I got him around 8" to go with my RTG but the RTG tried to bite him in half so he is now in a 6 footer with a group of cichla. I bought him privately for $75 and I probably paid more than what it's worth but it's just one of those fish that never shows up in a lfs around here. He eats market shrimp and meal worms.

I've read that you can't really keep more than one together or with any fish that are similar in colour and shape. From other readings, they get to 12-15" max in aquaria but up to 2 ft in the wild. Super fast when they eat. Seems to be a good fit with the cichla so far.

yeah i only want one and i would like to keep kim with my cichla and oscar and a few cats. all are babies right now, but i would like to find one here before long.

I have interest in these fish too. And I heard if done right, they can be given pellets.
Ive never seen one in an LFS, so I dont know what price range they go for.

Well, I have an 8 inch pike that a friend gave me. They are really cool fish. You can see the little, sharp teeth when they eat. Also, you can take them off of live food pretty easily. My pike is fed, freeze dried krill and floating Hikari sticks. Around the San Francisco Bay area, you can find African Pike at about 5-6 inches for about $30-40. Good luck, The Doctor.
