I picked this one up at an auction over the weekend. Not alot of info out there on these guys, so any info added would be appreciated

Yeah, saw that too, one website has them classified a the "least concerned" Of threatened species

Great find. The care is pretty similar to a. robertsoni. They like to dig and a fine substrait is good for them. They get about 7'' TL max and aren't that aggressive.

Thanks, nice article. I guess these fish were a grow out species contest that are local cichlid club here in Colorado did. So I'm hoping to be able to pick up a few more at another auction here in a couple weeks. I believe that the fish were actually brought in(to the club) by Don Conkel. If I don't get any at the auction, Americancichlids.net has some of size on their stocklist.
